Pastor's Weekly Message
It's hard to believe this is my last week here at Shepherd of the Valley! Together we've been on quite a journey this past two years. Like any lengthy journey, this one has had its ups and downs, but by the help of God, the people of SOV have arrived at a good place and are now ready for the next phase of the journey together with Pastor Randy Schutt.
I leave SOV with mixed feelings: I will miss folks, but I have to admit that I am looking forward to having some time to catch up on things! I'll be back to join in the celebration of Pastor Randy's installation.
This coming Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter, we will hear the story of Jesus' post-resurrection appearance to the disciples (John 20:19-31). Jesus breathes his Spirit on the disciples and sends them out to serve, just as he was sent by the Father to serve. We celebrate the resurrection that transforms frightened individuals into a community of open doors, peace, forgiveness, and sharing.
Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, with joy we celebrate the day of our Lord's resurrection. By the grace of Christ among us, enable us to show the power of the resurrection in all that we say and do, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
