Pastor's Weekly Message

"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God ..." Luke 2:13

Makes me think of singing.  And there has been a whole lot of sing going on around here.  Singing of the Christmas kind in particular.  We added some Christmas carols on Advent Sunday's (gasp!).  We sang at the excellent children's program this Sunday past.  We sang, and listened others sing as well, at the annual SOV Christmas concert.  And this Sunday evening we will go caroling, singing until our voices crackle.

Are we always melodious?  Maybe not exactly.  Are we some times discordant with our voices raised?  Some more than others I suppose.

But it is "praising God" that is the key for me here.  Luke does not write about how on key the "heavenly host" was.  So, sing away, boldly, loud and joyously.  We are part of the "multitude", and we still sing for the same reason some 20 centuries later.  On key or not it is all sweet music to the Lord.

In the peace and power of the manger,
Pastor Randy

"Lord, as we live this week, may we not only seek a sign from You, but be a sign from You, for our family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, classmates and everyone we encounter along the way.  For the sake of the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  Amen."
