Pastor's Weekly Message

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."  Psalm 46:1

This Sunday is Reformation Sunday and that verse will be part of our worship time.  To state it briefly, the time of the Reformation was unsettling to say the least, a time of rebellion, of upheaval for the church.  It was a formative moment in history.  It was not a  moment frozen in time however.

Life flows on and nothing seems much settled at times.  A couple of nights ago I had a moment to sit on the couch with my youngest grand daughter, Daphne.  We looked at a book.  It was sweet to be in that moment.  This morning, driving in to work, the sun was providing a beautiful, bright back drop to Mt. Hood.  Reminders that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."  May we continued to be reminded of the certainty of that in the smallest and grandest of moments.

In Christ,
Pastor Randy

"Creator and Redeemer, please give us the strength and courage to face and overcome the obstacles in our lives.  You call us to go out, in the power of the Spirit, and wade into life and all that it holds for us, may we do so confident of  your presence. In the name of the Christ, Amen"
