Pastor's Weekly Message

"Praise the Lord!  Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! ... Mountains and all hills ..." Psalm 148:1,9a

Maybe it's because I grew up in the flat lands of northwestern Ohio, but it could be that you have the same feeling even if you have lived your whole life in this beautiful part of creation. (That certainly seems to be the case for my son Josh, the only true Oregonian in our family.)

What I'm talking about is still being thrilled by the sight of the mountains around us.  After 30 years the sight of them still touches my heart and lifts my spirit.  Was reminded of that especially just a couple of days ago.  Driving to work and there at the end of TV highway sat Mt. Hood, cloaked in white, shining in the morning light.  It was absolutely beautiful,  for me that is the picture the psalmist was writing about.  Thanks for the beauty Lord.

Peace and blessings,
Pastor Randy

"As we put up our Christmas lights, might we be reminded of your light. Grant us the patience to pause in our task and bask in the promise of the star we follow. Keep us mindful of the birthday we celebrate and gift we are given in the manger. Amen."
