Pastor's Weekly Message

"Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low...." Isaiah 40:4

We heard John the Baptist use those words just a couple of weeks ago.  They announce the coming of the Messiah and the even keel that coming will bring to our lives.  But in the mean time we have many peaks and valleys as part of our lives.  For me this past Sunday was a perfect example of that.  At the beginning of early service I could barely speak because of the lump in my throat at the thought of the slaughter of the innocents in Connecticut.  And the at second service some of our own young people did such an astounding job in telling the story of the nativity that I was lifted and left grinning.  From valley to peak.

All a reminder of God's presence in every step, hand on shoulder through the peaks and valleys, the joy and sorrow.  As this chapter from Isaiah begins, "Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God."  The adventure is grand indeed.

In the power and presence of the Christ,
Pastor Randy

"We have waited, but soon we will wait no longer.  The celebration of the birth of Christ is almost upon us.  Please bless our time with friends and family.  And may we welcome the Christ into our hearts and homes.  Amen."

To all your wonderful carolers! You are the talk of the town - Everyone loved you and they want an encore! They are giving me the credit for your being here and I am happy to accept it. We loved seeing talented young people and of course, the "older" ones too.
Love you all!
