"O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth." Psalm 96:1
As it ended up, I couldn't help but smile. Wondered how my grand daughters would feel about their first youth choir practice here at SOV. This place is still new to them (becoming less so for me all the time). And they really don't know the other kids yet. Lots of unknowns, and newness can sometimes be overwhelming. And as a grandpa, part of my concern was that I just wanted them to be okay. Okay would be good enough.
So, I couldn't help but smile when, stepping out of my office, I was met with their singing, and twirling, and smiling. Worries were washed away by their joyous voices. It was much more than okay. They are looking forward to singing more next week, singing for all of us sometime soon (with other smiling, twirling voices as well).
A little later in the evening, stepping outside to see that beautiful silver orb, not yet full, coloring the clouds streaking across the sky. It brisk, still, nearly silent, more joyous reminders.
Can't help but smile.
In thanks for the continuing creation,
"Thank you Lord Jesus, for all our happiness. Thank you especially for the happiness which takes us by surprise. Above all we ask you to lead us toward the surprising discovery that what most pleases you will bring the greatest joy to us. In His name. Amen."
