Paul is speaking to a suffering that we may not know the depth of, but his words may certainly speak to us in trying times of our own. When we hear gloom and doom more than anything else. Paul says "hope does not disappoint us" because "God has poured his love into our hearts".
Saturday afternoon there was one long walk in the park with my granddaughter Taylor, and back to the park again later with both Taylor and Chase. We took along our gloves and a ball. All we did was play catch for a while. It was pretty soggy. But the sun was out. Could hear the shouts of other kids playing, and the smack of the ball in the glove. It was not a grand moment in the scheme of things I suppose, but of such moments is hope produced. And for me it was something God poured in.
What produces hope for you?
"Lord you promise us a life that is full, that has meaning. You tell us we don't need to worry about tomorrow. You give us us a life that promises meaning and value to all whom we come into contact with. Help us to know the truth of that. Amen."
