Just seemed like the kind of verse to turn to on this day when the rains returned in earnest. Preceding that heavy rain was the lighter falling that brought forth that scent of freshness, cleanliness. It is a sweet fragrance.
Chances are good I will tire of it. But for this moment it is a reminder of baptism, renewed every day. Washed clean. Reminded all the more of that upon seeing the dirt washed down to the base of the drive way, detritus accumulated over time, hardly noticeable, until the rain began washing it away.
The showers that are life giving and absolutely necessary in the end. Thanks for the gifts Lord.
In praise of the Creator,
"Lord, help us to honor the past and look forward to the future with hope so that we might continue to be transformed. Amen."
Prayers for Karen S. who had knee replacement surgery this past Monday. She is doing well and will soon be going home.
