"Be still, and know that I am God!" Psalm 46:10
Sometimes that can feel so good to do. Standing outside in the cool night air and simply basking in that beautiful waning moon, already shining high in the sky.
Lying flat on my back staring into the brilliant, pale blue fall sky. Losing myself in in its depth.
Watching several folks this past Sunday, as Jameson sang the Lord's prayer, sitting stock still, eyes closed, seemingly soaking the beauty of the moment.
Sometimes it is good to do, be still, and be awash in the presence of God.
In the peace and power of the Creator,
"Gracious God, we thank you for your providential grace at work in our lives and in our world. We rest in the knowledge that when all seems out of control, you are still God of the universe. When life seems chaotic, we find order in you. When violence shakes the foundation of our lives together, you still come in peace. Give us eyes to see the ways in which you never stop working for the redemption of our world. Amen."
