Pastor's Weekly Message

"...and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky."  Genesis 1:20

Been talking of creation in chapel for KOK and the little ones.  What an easy time of the year to speak of such things as the beauty of creation.  That beauty is so readily visible everywhere.

Thinking of the birds right now.  Still seeing, and hearing the clicking, of the occasional humming bird.  Watching the group of robins who gather nearly every evening in the back yard, especially a mottled one who has been easy to spot all summer.  the flocks of geese that can be heard before they are seen, forming an imperfect V over our house, headed from one wetland to another.  The solitary heron, unmistakable in flight, huge, ungainly, beautiful.  Looking out the church windows, over the play ground, and spotting a red tail hawk in those big trees, taking flight and quickly crossing the highway, and well beyond.  In the midst of so much human activity, a magnificent reminder to slow down for at least a moment.

I'm trying.  Thanks Lord.

Again, in praise of the Creator,
Pastor Randy

"Holy God, we come in prayer for those who are hurting.  It is not easy to live here on earth.  There is so much pain and hurt.  Relationships fail us when we need them most.  So, today we pray for those who feel desperate - for those who feel that there is no hope.  God, please bring them hope.  Show them that you hold them in the palm of your hand.  Let them never forget that you can make beautiful things out of the dust and above all, may they know peace.  May we all know your love and your care.  Amen."
