Pastor's Weekly Message

"Open my eyes, so that I may behold wondrous things....." Psalm 119:18

Apologies ahead of time if my attempts at waxing on and on about the beauties of nature from the Creator have grown old.  Sometimes I just can't help it.  Sometimes the surprise of the beauty requires nothings less than taking note.

Like Tuesday morning  while driving to the church.  Traffic was heavy as per usual, thoughts focused on the busyness around me, and drifting ahead to work to be done.  Waiting for the light at 185th and Walker I looked over at the empty lots and there was a gangly, beautiful great blue heron.  What are you doing there? You are not supposed to be in a place like this.  And then the thought was one of thanks, that in such a hurried time there was still a chance that God could "open my eyes, so that I might behold wondrous things".

As always, and again, in praise of the Creator,
Pastor Randy

"Holy God, we come in prayer for those who are hurting.  We pray for those who feel desperate - for those who feel that there is no hope.  Please bring them hope.  Show them that you hold them in the palm of your hand.  Let them never forget that you can make beautiful things out of the dust and above all, may they know the deep peace of being your children.  Thanks for loving us and caring about us so deeply.  Amen."
