Pastor's Weekly Message

"For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies, for the love which from our birth, over and around us lies; Christ, our God, to thee we raise this our sacrifice of praise."  - verse one of the hymn "For the Beauty of the Earth" by Folliiott S. Pierpoint

Sitting out front, yard work done on this day off, and the sun is shining.  The spot is warm and Paul Simon's "So Beautiful or So What" is providing the sound track, preferring to avoid the traffic sounds of Rood Bridge Road this day.
There are visual marvels before me.  The bit of yard has returned to a lush green again.  There are still roses blooming, red, orange, yellow and white.  There are a few purple flowers on the butterfly bush which has been mostly cut back.  Seemingly floating in the air are spider web strands, and little insects of some kind dancing round and round.

There are creatures to see too, at the bird feeders are towhee, a couple of doves, and many other little birds fluttering in and out of the nearby hedge.  There are also a couple of busy tailed rats (squirrels) furtively snacking. This is all framed by a brilliant blue sky.  It is all a reminder of how rich and blessed I am.

There is another reminder as well, as I look a little further, across the street there is a cemetery. There is no better time than the present to take in the richness of this life.

Still in praise of the Creator,
Pastor Randy

Thank you for this gifts of this life Lord.  Renew us again each day to enjoy the richness you have given us.  Indeed may those gifts strengthen us to serve those around us all the more, in your name and to your glory.  Amen.
