Pastor's Wednesday Message

Dear Christians at SOV,

I thought I would introduce you to several Christian churches and other places of worship in our neighborhood.

You may already know about our sister ELCA congregations, Community of ChristChurch near Hwy. 26 and Cornelius Pass Road and St. Andrew Lutheran Church on Butner Road.

Across the street is the True Life Fellowship, associated with Grace International, a Pentecostal Christian Church.

On the other side of Highway 26 near Bethany is the Somerset Christian Church. They are an independent Christian congregation.

Near 185th and Rock Creek Blvd. is the Sunset Covenant Church, Historically, Covenant Churches were offshoots of the Scandinavian Lutheran Churches.

On Walker Road east of 185th is the Beaverton Grace Bible Church. They are Christians who adhere to the Particular Baptist movement.

In the shopping area adjacent to our church is the Jaya Hanuman Temple. This is a worship center devoted to the Hindu god Hanuman and a cultural center concerned with Indian ways and customs.

May we become more aware of our neighbors of many Christian traditions and faith backgrounds.

             Shalom                             Pastor Tom
